Overview:
Many healthcare leaders believe that in order to be successful,
they must always be serious. However, leadership is not just about
being serious. It’s about motivating and inspiring others,
and it requires a variety of skills including humor.
In this presentation, event attendees at the Georgia Healthcare
Trade Faire & Regional Conference will see how humor enhances
one’s abilities and is a necessary tool for providing effective
professional and personal leadership. In addition, event attendees
will gain insight as to how to take responsibility for the values,
skills and attitude that are necessary to be an outstanding leader.
Through a FUN, funny and educational experience, event attendees
will see how doing the right thing and the light thing will “lead”
them to success.
Ronald P. Culberson, MSW, CSP spent ten years in a large hospice
organization in which he went from a front line staff member to
a senior leadership position. His use of humor, his understanding
of the healthcare environment and his command of the skills needed
to manage and lead people helped him as he managed 26 direct reports,
chaired a number of committees and task forces, and created the
first customer service and quality improvement initiative in his
hospice.
